One of the best things about As You Wish Book Covers is that it’s as easy. Just select a design, select your options, purchase, and download.

Because you have the option to buy the psd, you can change the font and colors as many times as you like. Note: Some covers may be made with special fonts. The designer will list the font information in the license that comes with your cover. Some may require purchase, some may not.
If you opt for the design service add on, you can change ask for a font and color changes, but you must be sure of the changes. How many times you can change your mind varies by designer.
No. Each design is licensed for one book. If you are looking for a series you can find series bundles on the site or contact the designer and ask for a variation of the original cover that can be used for the new book. (See next question (Can I personally change the art I buy?) For more information.
Absolutely Not! The cover is yours and you can to do what you want with it, for example you can put it on bookmarks, in ads, posters, ect. However, some of individual images that were used to create your cover may be stock images, which are copyrighted by the photographers who have strict rules about the use of their images. If the designer purchased a stock images, only he or she has the right to use or manipulate the images used to create your cover. These rights are non-transferrable.
No. Due to the digital nature of our products there are no refunds or exchanges.
PSD files are available to download instantly.
If you opt for the design service, the Designer will edit and send your purchased product within 3-5 business days unless otherwise specified.
It depends on the individual designer. Contact one of our amazing designers for more information.
Sometimes it may be possible. Contact the designer. Some of our designers have limited time to devote to creating covers. They choose to post their work on our site because it eliminates the extra tweaking and editing process. ( Remember, a cover does not have to exactly portray what is in the story. The best practice is to find a cover that calls out to you. If it grabs your attention it will most likely grab the reader’s attention too.)
No. All cover art is first come first serve. You can save it to your wishlist (This does not keep it from being sold on the site.) Some Designers allow you to buy now and customize it later.
There will always be a difference between art seen on the screen and on paper (when it’s printed) because ink can never reproduce screen colors 100%. Computer monitors and mobile screens give off a colored light known as RGB, while in printed materials the color model is known as CMYK (for colored ink).
Depends on the art. If the person is recognizable you will need a model release. These images will come with a model release. If the person is a 3D rendered model then you will not need one. No public domain images containing recognizable people are allowed to be used in designs on this site.
While there are many pictures of real people available in the creative common community and other sites may use them to create their premade covers, it can still cause a problem for authors because the photographer can give up his right to the photo he took, but that does not revoke the rights of the model in the photo. Since most creative commons pictures do not come with model releases, the artists are only allowed to use them in a way that eliminates the need for model releases. Even if you don’t buy a cover from As You Wish Book Covers, you are urged to ask and verify a model release if the cover you buy from other sites contain real people.
Here is an interesting article that I found that explains when you do and don’t need a model release. https://digital-photography-school.com/model-releases-need-know/ It is the full responsibility of the author to research the rules and decide if he or she wants to use covers containing these types of images.
Yes, if paid stock images have been used in your cover, you will need to buy an extended license, but we hope you do sell 250,000 books! We hope you have to get those extended licenses because that means you have a best seller on your hands and the cost of the images will have paid for themselves. 😀 . But As You Wish Book Covers has no control over this. The extended license is a requirement of the stock houses. The fees can differ, but are usually around $75. Since we require designers to use 2 or more images, it could higher. Once an extended license is paid for, it is good for life. It is the full responsibility of the author to research the rules on using stock and decide if he or she wants to use covers containing these types of images.
As You Wish Book Cover designs are unique because the designers are required to use 2 or more images. But these stock images are available for anyone to buy. If you compare the similar covers, they will be different because it is rare that designers would use the same combination of images to make their cover. If you are looking to get a book cover that is completely different from any cover anywhere, you’ll want to hire an illustrator, a photographer, or a model and shoot the custom photos yourself. But even big publishing houses use stock images for most of their books.
Yes. The amount of text on the book covers are just suggested examples. You may add a subtitle, a tagline or an endorsement on the cover if you want. It’s up to you, even if you purchase the design service.
Yes. That is what our site is about.
We love to give credit where credit is due! The best way to credit the designer or artist is by using a link to that Artist’s gallery of premade book covers. ex: asyouwishbookcovers.com/artist

Store owners are completely in control of their products because we sign designers up by viewing samples of their work before they are allowed to sell. After that, we vigorously patrol the products on our site. Covers are examined for quality and legality of images. All images used to create a cover must be: Original illustrations/photos, stock photography images, or public domain images. If public domain images are used, we will not accept the cover if a person is recognizable. If stock images are used, then those photos are approved for commercial use and a model release should be on file with the stock house. Any covers found in violation are deleted.
Your ebook template is made from the full cover template. Simply flatten the design crop the front cover and save as a jpg. Be sure you do not save over the original psd or you will lose your full cover.
